ScreenBlur – An Innovative Way to Lock Down Your Screen

Windows 7 is one of the best operating system that I have ever used. Nevertheless, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 both have a great user interface, which has no ancillary at all. The security of those OS is just more than good. The Picture password is new and a pioneering feature to get rid of annoying people.

Today I am talking about security since now I am going to acquaint with a Windows software that will help let you lock down your desktop by clicking once. This software is known as ScreenBlur and you can grab it without spending a cent.

How to set up and use ScreenBlur to lock down your screen?

ScreenBlur is a portable software and this is quite unspoiled for them who don’t want to use a substantial software in order to keep offline concealment. You can use it on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. However, I am bit confirm that you can also use it on Windows 8.1 since Windows 8 and 8.1 are bit same in terms of core files.

It comes with few simple options that will help you to run this app according to your requirements and wish. At first, download a free copy of ScreenBlur and open it on your PC. The first thing that you have to do is set a password. I endorse you to use a strong password since it will be the passkey during screen lock. Don’t forget to press the Set button after entering your password.

This tab contains some features to start it at startup of Windows. I recommend you to check this option. The next thing will lock down your screen after predefined time if your desktop go through in idle mode. This is also possible to play a sound when it is locking down your PC.

Obviously, you can set some shortcut keys to operate this security app. You can set the hotkey to lock screen, activate/deactivate desktop blackout, and temporarily enable/disable lock on idle and open settings pane.

From this tab, you can put your computer sleep/hibernate/shutdown if locked for a particular period. You can also allow or disallow normal shut down while screen is locked.

You can prevent your keyboard and mouse input for other apps. By checking the second option, you can disable other apps windows. If you enable Input Stealth and Regain Focus, you can gain focus when you start typing. I suggest you to enable both, otherwise it may cause various problems.

From this last tab, you can customize the lock button, which is stated, in your system tray. You can also change the font, text color and more others.

As a freemium app, this is better than any other security apps for Windows. So, if you need just security and nothing else, ScreenBlur is just great.
