In a scenario when it is becoming difficult for brands to launch affordable and in-budget smart phones in India, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has once again managed to surprise the smart phone market by launching its Redme 2. As expected, the Apple of China Xiaomi has launched 2 new devices i.e Redmi 2 and the 7.9 inch Mi Pad that has changed the face of Budget Tablet PCs in India. We were present at the Launch Event Happened today at The Lalit, New Delhi.
Xiaomi Redme 2, that is priced at Rs.6999/- will be on sale only on Flipkart.com on March 24 at 2pm. The registrations for the same will begin from March 12 at 6pm on Flipkart. On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi Pad Tablet PC that is priced at Rs.12,999/- will also go on sale on March 24 on Flipkart. However, buyers are not required to make prior registrations for Mi Pad.
Features & Specifications:
Xiaomi Redmi 2 possesses a 4.7 inch 720p HD IPS fully laminated display (Sharp/AUO; 70% NTSC colour gamut, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 312ppi) plus AGC Dragontrail glass protection. The duel SIM device runs Anroid 4.4.4 KitKat operating system candy-coated with MIUI 6 and also supports 3G & 4G in both slots. The phone features 8MP BSI f/2.2 primary camera with 28mm wide-angle 5 element lens and a 2MP secondary camera that supports 720p video recoding.
It runs a 64-bit 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 CPU based on Cortex A53 alongwith Adreno 306 GPU, 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB ROM that can be expanded up to 32GB.
Xiaomi also displayed a limited edition Redmi 2 version with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM which will be available via flipkart only.
Xiaomi’s First Tablet in India i.e Mi Pad:
The 7.9-inch Xiaomi Mi Pad features a 8MP BSI f2.0 primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera. It run on a 2.2 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra K1 Cortex-A15 CPU along with ULP GeForce Kepler (192 cores) GPU with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, expanded up to 128GB. The device runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS with MIUI and is powered by a 6,700 mAh battery. But it is a WiFi only tablet PC.
