Apple silently adds Bluetooth 4.2 to iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus & iPad Air 2

As you all know, Changes to Apple’s Published Tech specs are much rare to see, but when they actually happen they are much interesting. Following the September 9 announcement of iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro, Apple have modifies the tech specs silently and as compared to last year iPhone’s , Bluetooth has jumped from 4.0 to 4.2 now which is the the latest version of the increasingly popular wireless standard. Also the 6th Gen iPod Touch has been shipped with Bluetooth 4.2 but the iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and iPhone 5S will remain on Bluetooth 4.0

Bluetooth 4.2 is 2.5x Faster in speed and 10x Greater data capacity over its predecessors with improving privacy, security and power efficiency. Also Apple is expected to launch its new keyboard, Magic trackpad 2 and magic mouse 2 which will feature Bluetooth 4.2 only.

Although we are still unclear of the fact that whether a firmware update or changed hardware for the newly built iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 have the Bluetooth 4.2 Support or not. Well, previously Bluetooth 1.0 , 2.0, 3.0 devices couldn’t be upgraded to newer versions with software upgrades but with Bluetooth 4.0 it is possible. However reports have suggested that Bluetooth 4.2’s speed and other such improvements would probably require the Apple’s all new hardware for the same.
