Nowadays, the major competitor for popular global Smartphone manufacturers in the budget and mid range Android Smartphones market, is surely the Chinese Smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi and Meizu, who provides Smartphones with great hardware and software specifications and that too with a price tag that is very convenient.
However, the place where major Smartphone manufacturers like Sony and Samsung bet their money is on their brand value and customer satisfaction, which is kind of hard to get replaced.
The latest Xperia M4 Aqua from Sony is priced at a range that is having the highest competition these days. And for someone who is more concerned about the raw hardware power than the overall experience, they might feel like the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is underpowered. However, is the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua still a Smartphone to be considered for the price? To find out more about the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, read our detailed review below.
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Review:
The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is a Smartphone having a 5 inch 720p HD display with 720 x 1280 pixel HD resolution and features a 1.5 GHz octa core 64 bit Snapdragon 615 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage space along with an external SD card slot for storage expansion up to an additional 128 GB, a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera. And all of these powered by a non removable 2400 mAh battery unit. The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop software.
The device has a plastic construction and is IP 68 certified for dust and water proofing up to a depth of 1.5 meters and that too for 30 minutes long. The device is 7.3 mm thick and weighs in at 135 grams.
The performance of the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is good enough for completing day to day tasks. The combination of the octa core Snapdragon 615 processor and 2 GB of RAM does work very well when it comes to heavy multi tasking and gaming, however, the device does tends to heat up when processes like extended gaming is done, and as an effect, slows down the processing of the device as well.
The 13 MP primary camera provided in the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is good enough for your social media shares and does impress with the amount of detail that comes out in every picture. The phone also manages to get impressive shots indoors and even in low lighting conditions. However, one major complaint about the camera on the Xperia M4 Aqua would be that it takes quite some time than usually expected to click pictures, which means, if your hands are not steady or if you pull out your hands too quick, you will be resulted with a blurry image. The secondary front facing camera of the device is impressive for selfies, and won’t disappoint the selfie lovers out there.
The 2,400 mAh battery is quite sufficient enough to get the device through a complete day on battery backup, even when the usage scenario is heavy. Therefore, you should largely not be facing any issues regarding the battery backup of the device.
