VR surely is the thing to come but with not a lot of VR headsets available in the market and even fewer affordable ones, we still have a long way to go. However, LeTV seems to be changing things. For those of you who dont know, LeTV is an online video streaming giant based in China who are also a popular name in the smartphone market in China and now are venturing into new markets.
Talking about the LeVR Cool 1, the VR headset will be available online starting 28th December from the company’s website LeMall. This could mean some serious competition for its competitors like the DIY Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear VR headset which made big news but failed to gather any large crowds probably because it only works with Samsung handsets.
LeTv is also hoping to integrate videos from their online video streaming service to the VR to create a video on demand service to give the VR headset users an ever better experience. However, initially the headset will only work with a couple of LeTv smartphones including the LeTv One and LeTv One Pro. The handset will be sold in batches of 20,000 beginning 29th December.
With the release coming a few days before the CES 2016 and as we know that LeTv will be present at the show, you can for sure expect the VR headset to be present at the show and since there is not much to go against the LeVR, it is going to get a warm welcome from the crowd and will gather a good response.
