After creating much hype and a solid round of rumors, HTC’s latest flagship HTC 10 was finally unveiled at a global launch event this week. However, HTC fans in a few south-east Asian countries including India were lest disappointed as the local websites listed the HTC 10 Lifestyle which is a toned down version of the HTC 10.
This caused great turmoil in the crowd and critics as well. However, following an official statement from HTC we now know that the HTC 10 will soon find its way to the Indian market.
Here’s what Mr. Faisal Siddiqui, President HTC South Asia had to say about it:
Jabra launches the most advanced true wireless sports earbuds; Jabra Elite Sport in India for INR 18,990
“We are pleased to announce that global flagship HTC 10 is coming soon to India. Stay tuned for the announcement and the availability date.”
However, Mr. Siddiqui was careful not to mention a date for the launch event. We are also clueless whether both the HTC 10 Lifestyle and the HTC 10 will be launched in India or will it just be the flagship device that will find its way into the Indian market.
The HTC 10 Lifestyle looks pretty much like the HTC 10 and carries pretty much the same innards to but it differs from the flagship where it matters the most to many people: chipset and RAM. While the HTC 10 features the latest SoC from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820 paired with 4 GB of Ram, the HTC 10 Lifestyle features Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The two devices also differ in the on-board storage they come with: the HTC 10 Lifestyle comes with just 32 GB space while the HTC 10 comes with 2 options: 32 GB and 64 GB. Both the devices however have the option to expand that space using a microSD card slot.
While HTC had never said that the HTC 10 won’t be launched in India, the display of just the HTC 10 Lifestyle on the official website post the HTC 10 launch raised quite some doubts. However, all these doubts have been cleared now and we look forward to the flagship’s launch in India soon.
