The latest Oppo F1 Plus is the upgraded variant of the OPPO F1, which was launched just a couple of months back. Both these Smartphones are marketed as the best “Selfie Experts” available in the market currently.
Marketing terms aside, how does the so-called “Selfie Expert” of the Android ecosystem fare when compared to the camera performance of the Apple iPhone 6s, which is often called the best Smartphone camera available in the market currently.
Hardware Specifications:
No Smartphone comparisons can be complete without comparing the hardware specifications of both the devices. Both these devices feature some high end hardware specifications.
The Oppo F1 Plus features a 5.5 inch Full HD display with a PPI of 401 and is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa core Mediatek Helio P10 processor and with 4 GB of RAM.
The primary camera sensor is of 13 MP resolution with autofocus and LED flash whereas the front facing camera is of 16 MP resolution and can also shoot 1080p Full HD videos. The battery unit provided in the device is of 2850 mAh capacity.
The Apple iPhone 6s on the other hand is the best that Apple has to offer for the year 2015, and comes no short in terms of hardware specifications. The device sports a 4.7 inch Retina resolution display with a screen resolution of 750×1334 pixels. The processor is an Apple A9 processor which is a dual core 1.84 GHz Twister processor and also features 2 GB of RAM along with a six-core PowerVR GT7600 graphics processor. There is a 12 MP primary camera sensor and also a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter in the Apple iPhone 6s.
Even though the specifications of both the Apple iPhone 6s and the Oppo F1 Plus seems comparable, the octa core Mediatek processor clocked in at 2 GHz fares better than the 1.84 GHz Twister dual core Apple A9 processor.
Design and Camera Performance:
The Oppo F1 Plus seems like to have gained a lot of inspiration in terms of hardware as well as software looks and feel. The device looks externally quite better than the Apple iPhone 6s when we take the fact into consideration that the Oppo F1 Plus costs almost just half than what the Apple iPhone 6s is priced at .
Even in terms of the camera performance, the Oppo F1 Plus has a better rear and front camera combo than the Apple iPhone 6s. In terms of specifications, the Oppo F1 Plus features a 13 MP rear and 16 MP selfie camera sensors, both of which are superior to the Apple iPhone 6s.
As said above, the front facing camera has a sensor resolution of 16 MP, which is higher than the primary camera which has a 13 MP sensor and has a f/2.0 aperture lens, the performance output of the camera is stellar, when compared to the front facing camera output of the Apple iPhone 6s.
The selfies taken from the Oppo F1 Plus gives sharper pics with comparitively less noise than expected from a 16 MP sensor.
The only down side of the device to be frank, is that the device tends to get a bit heated up when we took the Oppo F1 Plus out for a photoshoot review. Still, it does not heat up as much as the competing Smartphones and the heating problem may be just a bug in our test unit.

Final Verdict:
The Oppo F1 Plus retails for Rs. 26,990 in India currently and the price of the Apple iPhone 6s in India currently is Rs. 47,499.
For the price at which it sells, the Oppo F1 Plus is easily one of the best mid ranger Android Smartphone with a great camera when regarded to the price point. The best in class hardware specifications, awesome built quality, fast fingerprint scanner and a great primary and secondary camera combination which beats the camera of the iPhone 6s, easily makes the Oppo F1 Plus a better pick than the Apple iPhone 6s.
