The OnePlus 5 which was launched at an event in New Delhi on June 22nd goes on open sale from today across India. The smartphone is now available on Amazon.in and OnePlusStore.in online and all OnePlus Experience Stores in Delhi and Bengaluru. The OnePlus 5 is the company’s latest ‘flagship killer’ that is also the priciest ever launched. It also comes with the World’s highest resolution dual-rear camera setup.
Thousands of fans who were waiting at the pop-up sales organzied at Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hydrabad got their hands on OnePlus 5 where they were also able to purchase a limited amount of units. The response from the fans has overwhelmed the General Manager of OnePlus India, Vikas Agarwal who said, “We are humbled by the response we have seen for the early access sales on Amazon.in as well as the pop-up events held across 5 cities in India. What was truly overwhelming for us was that we saw customers coming from remote and far off locations to queue-up for the pop-up events in these 5 cities, just to be amongst the first ones to own OnePlus 5. The passion and excitement exuded from them, inspires us to continuously improve their experience with the brand and the products.”
The specifications of the device for starters: it has a 5.5 inch Full HD Optic AMOLED display, Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 6 or 8 GB RAM with 64 or 128 GB internal storage, a 20MP and 16MP dual cameras on the back and a 16MP front facing camera. The company answered The Verge a question saying that they don’t have facilities to manufacture bezel-less smartphone and hence they upped the camera resolutions of the phone.
The OnePlus 5 is now available through online and offline platforms. The 8 GB RAM/ 126 GB storage variant which is Midnight Black version costs Rs. 37,999 and the Slate Gray 6 GB RAM/ 64 GB storage version is available for Rs. 32,999.
Amazon Kindle users can get Rs. 500 credit on their account while purchasing OnePlus 5 between June 22 and July 31. SBI credit and debit card holders can get Rs. 1500 cashback while buying OnePlus 5. OnePlus 5 smartphone customers are also eligible for 12 month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify if they download Kotak 811 savings account and activate it with an initial deposit of Rs. 1000.
