IBM Developer Day 2019, Event Designed for Developers by Developers

IBM Developer Day 2019 is an event designed for Developers by Developers; that combines the open source code, top technical talks, hands on workshops and other things. It happened at Taj Yeshwantpur, Bangalore on 14th March 2019.
Its a great opportunity for all the developers to showcase their skills, explore the newest tech around the country, learn from industry experts from IBM, and get your queries answered. Developers from around the country came here and discussed the most exciting advances in the open source technologies and more.

IBM Developer Day covered topics around Cloud, Open Source, Blockchain, AI, Data Analytics and many more. The main objective of this event is for the developers to meet and learn from the industry experts, help resolve their queries and get to know a lot of other things which were showcases at the event. Industry expert IBM speakers talked about the most exciting advancements in the area of Blockchain, AI, Cloud, Analytics etc.

The Event kickstarted with the opening note and panel discussion on Future of Open Source by Ginni Rometty, Chairman, President & CEO of IBM. She talked about the commitment IBM is doing towards the open source technologies that the company work upon. She mentioned about the developers who contributes a lot to the open source technologies who gets to take a lot as well from it in developing their portfolio and knowledge. IBM already has decades of the expertise into the open source technologies and this event is a perfect example for developers to grow their knowledge about the developer community which IBM has been working upon.

As we were pretty excited to hear things related to Cloud, We decided to go in their Cloud Track at the event.

Cloud Track:-

As soon as we entered, we were welcomed by Mr Girish Dhanakshirur who took the stage and talked about the Modern Application Architecture for the Enterprise. IBM is creating new challenges for developers in the cloud infrastructure and serverless frameworks. He talked about the developer journey from design and build to deploying cloud native applications at scale.

Mr Girish Dhanakshirur then talked about the evolution of the App Platform. He mentioned about the cloud applications which always should be built in the hybrid architecture (both public and private cloud) which was such a great takeaway for us, from IBM Developer Day 2019.

After that we visited a few booths outside the Cloud Track where developers from around the city came and got to learn a lot of new things that IBM is working upon. Developers from IBM were showcasing various technologies developed by them at the company.

War of Minds- Ball Controlled by Neurotechnology
This was a challenge that can actually enhance an individual’s skill. It reminds me of X-Men Series, it was a pretty interesting game to play with fellow developers who were there at the event.
In this game, It was actually all about the Mind Focus. If you focus well you WIN. By just focussing on the ball, I could move it forward. The more I focus, it moves forward. It was like VS game with the other developer.

Other Booths we saw were about;

Immersive Insights – Bringing Data to life through Augmented Reality, Powered by IBM Cloud

App Development – No-Code Mobile and Web App Development for AI and Microservices

Watson Machine Learning Accelerator – An enterprise solution for accelerated AI

So now if you are a developer you would definitely agree with us as we discuss about these technologies that one could gain a lot of knowledge from it, and take part in alot of such activities, and other opportunities by IBM that would take your skills to the next level.
