Microsoft is the biggest software company out there and the topmost computer OS, Windows is being developed by this software company, Microsoft Corporation. In few versions of Windows, you will get the most popular feature, Remote Desktop, which will let you access your computer from almost everywhere over internet.
Microsoft has launched their first Remote desktop application for Android which is compatible with almost every phone, tablet as well as iPad. This is free, lightweight and easy to set up.
Requirements:
Android phone which is running on Android 2.2 or later version. Alternatively, you must have iOS 6.0 or up in order to use this app. On the other end, you need Windows 8 pro or Windows 8.1 pro or Windows 7 Ultimate where Remote Desktop option is available.
How to set up and use Microsoft Remote Desktop?
This is however very easy and not yet so much time consuming. At first open your My Computer or This PC on your computer and right click on empty space to go to Properties. Then hit the link that says Remote Settings.
Check the checkbox which says Allow connection only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication (more secure) and Apply it.
Now download a free copy of Microsoft Remote Desktop either on Android or on iOS. [Download links given below]
The following screen will be appeared after pressing the plus button followed by opening this app on your device.
On the first screen, enter a name, PC name (IP address), username (Microsoft Username and password on Windows 8 and 8.1). Now save your changes.
Now tap on the set up from the second screen. An untrusted certificate confirmation will ask you to allow that. Press anyone between Trust Once and trust Always.
The set up is complete and now you can access your PC right from your Android or iOS device using Microsoft Remote Desktop.
You can do whatever you want. The full computer keyboard will be appeared by pressing the Options button of your mobile.
