I am a fan of SnagIt and using it for more than 1 year to capture screenshots of various software to publish them on this blog. Previously, I mentioned top 10 screen capture software for Windows and some others as well.
If you want to capture your screen and share it with someone then the PrtScn button is enough for you but if you are a blogger like me, you must have to use some other tool like SnagIt, Skitch, Jing etc. to capture screen like professionals.
To compete with them, here is yet another screen capturing tool that is known as Ashampoo Snap 7. It is available for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. If you just download and install it on your PC, you will get it only for 10 days. But if you create an account and verify your email ID, you will get 30 days in addition.
It requires minimum system requirements. You must have only 256 MB RAM, 60 MB memory to install this app.
How to use Ashampoo Snap 7 like a Pro?
Before using it for regular, I would suggest you to know every option carefully because it has more than enough options. The user interface is pretty confusing. On the other end, it looks awesome. Although all options are common but as a newbie, you might be confused.
To capture screenshot, just open this app and navigate to the top right of your screen. You will get a bar just like the following picture;
You can do the following things from the bar;
- Capture scrolling window
- Capture Internet explorer or Chrome Website
- Capture multiple windows at a time
- Capture single window
- Capture free rectangle region
- Capture fixed region
- Capture menu
- Timed capture
- Color picker
On the other end, you can also capture video by making use of this tool.
The editing interface is looking something like the following image;
This screen can help you to do the following things;
- Rotate
- Flip
- Resize
- Free hand drawing
- Add text
- Add arrow
- Clone objects
- Highlight
- Apply gradient effect
- Save in PNG, JPG, BMP
- Directly upload to Dropbox, Google Drive and SkyDrive
There are also tons of options to do different things but here I just mentioned only important features.
Final Word:
If you just want to capture screen and nothing else, other software like Jing, in-built option are enough for you. But as a freelance writer, SnagIt and Ashampoo Snap are just great.
