Huawei Honor 4C Review

Similar to the attempts made by many of the Chinese manufacturers in India, Huawei too have been recently trying a lot harder to get their brand into the popular list in the budget Android Smartphones segment. And their Honor brand is a separate division of the manufacturer solely focused towards releasing budget friendly Android devices.

The latest entry in to the Smartphones lineup from Honor, is the Honor 4C which costs below INR 10,000 in India and for the price tag, offers a very good package. However, is it the best you can buy for the price? That’s what we are going to find out in this review today.

Huawei Honor 4C Review:

Similar to many other offerings under the INR 10,000 price tag, the Honor 4C is too made out of plastic and has a textured back panel. The device weighs 162 grams and is 8.8 mm thick, both of which are too outdated according to today’s standards.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei’s home built Kirin 920 chipset, which is a 1.2 GHz octa-core processor and has 2 GB of RAM as well. The internal storage provided is 8 GB and can be expanded up to an additional 32 GB via external SD card. The primary camera fitted in the device is of 13 MP resolution, whereas there is also a 5 MP selfie shooter.

However, unlike majority of the recent Android Smartphones under the INR 10,000 price range, the Honor 4C does not support 4G LTE connectivity, however has all other regular features such as WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi Direct, FM Radio etc.

The Honor 4C has a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, that gives the display a PPI of 294.

The device is powered by a 2550 mAh battery, which can easily last you through a complete working day, thanks to the low power consumption by the device.

On the software side of things, the device comes running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box, and will be receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop as an OTA update shortly. There is also a custom “Emotion UI 3.0” from Huawei on top of Android 4.4.2 Kitkat in the device.

Performance wise, the device gives a good experience, thanks to the hardware and software optimization done, as it runs Huawei’s own Kirin processor. Moreover, the 2 GB of RAM that the device has been provided with ensures that there are no hiccups while performing any kind of tasks in the device.
On the camera front too, the 13 MP primary camera is too good considering the price tag at which this device sells and can easily compete with any other Smartphone under the same price range. The camera can also record 1080p HD videos. Even the 5 MP secondary camera is surely enough to impress the selfie lovers out there.

Final Words

At the cheap price point in which the Huawei Honor 4C sells, it is a great device with great hardware specifications and latest software. The only disadvantage of the device however, is that it does not support 4G LTE connectivity.
