2015 has come to an end and the new year is about to dawn on us. With the new year feelings, we also expect to get a whole lot of new devices coming this year and it looks like all the tech giants are gearing up to fulfill our expectations.
They sure have a whole lot of gadgets lined up to be released in 2015 and what better place than CES, Las Vegas to showcase it. Starting from 5th January, the show will play host to some of the biggest brands in the world and that is what this article is about. This is all the info we could gather about who’ll be there with what:
ASUS at CES 2016
Asus was scheduled to be holding a press conference on the 5th january but that has been cancelled due to a “change in corporate stratergy”. Asus will still be present at the show and will have some new products to offer.
Band & Olufsen at CES 2016
The main center of attraction will be the BeoLab 90 speaker which will be unveiled at the show along with another unnamed product.
BlackBerry at CES 2016
BlackBerry recently came out with the Priv and so we’re not expecting a new smartphone at the show. Instead, sources report BlackBerry will be focusing on security and Internet of Things at their event on the 6th January.
Blu-Ray Disc Association at CES 2016
Ultra HD 4K Blu Ray will finally be unveiled at the event and this will be a big crowd gatherer. Expect a lot of demonstrations and even more announcements.
Chevrolet at CES 2016
More and more car manufacturers are now coming to the CES and General Motors are not the ones to be left behind. They will be unveiling the production model of the electric Chevy Bolt which they claim can run 200 miles on a full charge.
Ford at CES 2016
Ford is rumoured to be working with Google on developing self driven cars that wont need a driver to be driven. We’re expecting announcements and news about the same at the CES. Sources also report that these cabs will be used by Google to test an automated taxi service in some parts of the US.
Hisense at CES 2016
With the onset on Hisense in the UK market, the TV industry could be in for some competition. Offering 4K TVs at rock bottom prices, the manufacturer is offering some stiff competition. However there’s no clue about the products to be unveiled at the CES. A senior executive said some “massive” TV announcements will be made.
Huawei at CES 2016
With the Huawei Mate 8 being teased for a long time, we will finally get to see the device for the first time at the CES 2016. The device will initially be made available in China and then to other markets. The Huawei Mate 8 is a full HD 6 inch smartphone boasting of octa-core Kirin 950 processor, Mali T880MP4 graphics and Cat 6 4G LTE.

The Korean Car manufacturer will hold a press conference to unveil its plans for the production of fully automated vehicles on the 5th January
Lenovo at CES 2016
Lenovo’s partnership with the popular gaming accessory specialist Razor means we are going to see some major gaming modifications to the current line of gaming PCs and laptops by Lenovo, the Y series.
LG at CES 2016
LG is not the best when it comes to keeping future product launches and announcements a secret and the CES is no exception. Here are the products we will see from LG at the CES 2016:
- LG Signature range which will be a premium range at the top of its ranges in different categories including TVs, air conditioners, washing machines and air purifiers.
- Three new projectors: PH550, PH1000 & PH1500 each with a distinctive feature.
The PH550 comes with a rechargable battery which can run for about 2.5 hours before needing a charge. The PH1000 can project a 100 inch image from just 15 inches away. The PH1500 has 1500 lumen brightness. - Three new sound bars: SH8, SH7 which come with wireless subwoofers and the SH6 which houses 6 independent speaker drive units in a single body.
- LG Gram: A 15.6 inch laptop running Windows 10 while its body measures the same as that of any 14 inch laptop. It also weighs 980g which is 350 g lighter than tha 13 inch MacBook Air.
- New PC monitors with 4K and 21:9 aspect ratio features and USB type C connectivity.
- Hom-Bot Turbo+:
A robotic vacuum cleaner which sweeps the floor autonomously but can also be controlled through your smartphone. - Some new TVs along with the Signature TV will be unveiled. These TVs will run on the new LG TV interface: the webOS 3.0. Some improvements include the ability to zoom into text or image on the TV without losing quality. Also, the upgraded magic remotes allow for better control with the SetTop box. Software upgradations in the webOS 3.0 will study your watching pattern and suggest shows based on that. You can also view two split screens at once.
Panasonic at CES 2016
Hosting an event on the 5th January at the same time as Huawei, panasonic will be unveiling some new “products and solutions designed to meet the needs to people wherever they are”.
Qualcomm at CES 2016
At the CES, we’re expecting Qualcomm to show off the all new Snapdragon 820 and not just show it off but show its performing capabilities. Qualcomm’s CEO is also expected to talk about “smart cities” in his keynote so we can see some new automotive innovations too.
Samsung at CES 2016
Sources confirm that the Samsung CES 2016 event will be dedicated to digital cameras, camcorders and camera accessories. Sources also say that Samsung is planning for “a major surprise” for all of us at the event related to its digital camera market. However, do not expect the Galaxy S7 to be unveiled at the event as it is very unlikely.
Sony at CES 2016
Sony will host a press conference at their stand rather than at the hotel where all the other events are held on the 5th and it will be the last major event of the day. Sony has managed to keep any new announcements a well-kept secret so we’ll have to wait till the event to find out.
ZTE at CES 2016
ZTE will hold a press conference on the 5th January where it plans to unveil its range of 2016 products.
