Lenovo is now amongst the top 3 smartphone brands in India

Lenovo (including Motorola) has raced to the third position in the smartphone segment for the first time ever in India with a market share of 11 per cent during Q4 2015, according to the latest Counterpoint Market Monitor. Lenovo was also the second largest 4G LTE player for the year according to the report.

“Our efforts have been consistently directed towards meeting the evolving needs of Indian consumers and it is encouraging to see their response to our products. We will continue to strengthen our R&D and manufacturing capabilities to ensure that we can offer our customers with a wide range of choices. We are looking forward to an exciting 2016,”  said Sudhin Mathur, Director, Lenovo MBG, India.

Lenovo has consistently gained market share in India over the last year — from 5.1 per cent in Q4 2014 to 11 per cent in Q4 2015 to be the third-largest smartphone player in India. Lenovo’s 4G portfolio particularly has been a great success in the Indian market with devices such as K3 Note, Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto X Play, Moto E (2nd Gen), A6000 and A6000 Plus being market favourites in 2015. ​
