Having made its name in many Asian and other countries around the globe for offering feature rich smartphones that don’t burn a hole in your pocket, Coolpad is back in the news. This time, with two new offerings the Torino S and the Porto S for the European market.
Commenting on the launch, Denny Qiu, Head of European Business said,

We’ll talk about each of these 2 smartphones in detail below.
Coolpad Torino S
Equipped with a 4.7 inch 2.5D screen with a HD (1280 X 720 pixels) resolution, the Torino S runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 with Coolpad’s UI Cool 8.0 applied over it. The device offers some pretty good specs under the hood including a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz paired with 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. The device features 16 GB of expandable storage accesible through a micro SD card.
Moving on to the camera department, we have an 8 MP snapper on the back with autofocus and an LED flash. The front carries a 5 MP camera unit to cater to your social networking and video calling needs. The back also features a fingerprint sensor which unlocks your phone in an astonishing 0.5 seconds and clicks photos in 0.24 seconds. The Torino S also features an IR blaster that allows you to operate electronis such as TV, AC and many more.
The device measures a decently slim 7.8 mm and tips the scales at a light 120 grams. The powerhouse is a 1,800 mAh battery which we guess will be underequipped. Priced at EUR 199, the device will soo hit European markets.
Coolpad Porto S
Moving on to the younger sibling of the duo, the Porto S sports a 5 inch display with an HD resolution. Running the same Cool UI 8.0 on top of Android 5.1, Porto S boasts of some pretty interesting specs under the hood. A quad-core MediaTek MT6735P clocked at 1 GHz and 1 GB of RAM is what keeps the device going. The device comes with 8 GB on board storage that can be expanded a further 64 GB through a a hybrid SIM slot.
Talking about the camera dpartment, the device carries an 8 MP camera on the back with an LED flash and 2 MP snapper on the front the device is decently equipped. Standing 7.6 mm thick and 125 grams heavy, the Porto S is better equipped with the battery at 2,000 mAh. Priced at EUR 129, the device will hit the market by this month’s end.
