Design:

ASUS is a well known name in the PC industry, thanks to their strongly built PC devices. The same level of quality and care has been given while designing and manufacturing their Android devices as well.

Asus Zenfone Max Front

The device houses a massive battery of 5,000 mAh, and ASUS has done a great job of reducing the bulky footprint of the ASUS Zenfone Max by designing it quite palm friendly.

Asus Zenfone Max Smartphone Back

The device features a 5.5 inch 720p HD display and overall the device weighs in at 204 grams, which may seem a bit on the heavier side for a 5.5 inch device, but honestly, it does not give a heavy feeling when held.
The device is made of plastic and comes in a variety of flashy colors such as Black, Blue and Orange. The Zenfone Max also has a metal spine and also features 3 on screen navigation buttons.

Software:

Asus Zenfone Max features the same overhauled ZenUI similar to all of its latest siblings. The ZenUI offers a ton in terms of extensibility and customization, and will be a treat for those who love to customize the UI of their Android devices.

Asus Zenfone Max comes with Android M out of the box

The device comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, and also gives users access to all the latest and convenient software features bundled with the most up to date version of the Android operating system.
Android users coming from other devices such as from HTC or Samsung may feel a bit strange, as there is no app drawer in the ZenUI, all the applications can be from the home screen instead of having an app drawer.

Performance:

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 615 processor clocked in at 1.6 GHz and also features either 2 or 3 GB of RAM, depending on the price variant you opt for. Whatever the RAM variant be, the device is capable of handling almost every day to day task including multi tasking and heavy gaming with ease and no lags is visible at all.

Games such as Modern Combat 5, Asphalt 8 and Fifa 16 runs without any issues in the device. And that is more than what you actually can ask from a device priced so budget friendly.
There is also 32 GB of internal storage space provided, which is great for starters, and once that space gets filled up, you can also pop in a MicroSD card for expanding storage.

Camera:

The camera combo within the device includes a 13 MP rear and a 5 MP front facing camera. Both the sensors are of f/2.0 aperture and there is also autofocus and a dual LED flash accompanying the rear camera unit.

Zenfone Max Back
As far as camera output goes, the images taken outdoors with good lighting gives crisp and clear photos. The images are processed pretty quickly even though the devices takes a split second longer to focus on the subject. The color are pretty accurate in the photos taken and overall the camera output is pretty descent.

Battery:

Zenfone Max Back Speaker Grill

Here comes the main highlight of the Zenfone Max, which is the non removable 5000 mAh battery. There are no devices in the price range that boasts of such a massive battery unit. What more, as if the massive battery was not enough, there are also different power saving modes, which compromises processor performance for better battery output, in case you need that.

Final Verdict:

Finally, speaking of the Asus Zenfone Max, it is one of the best Android Smartphones out there with a massive 5,000 mAh battery and a very budget friendly pricing.  This device is a very decent pick under 10,000 price bracket when considering its monstrous battery life and great camera output.
